New York energy, with a lot more green space.
I’m Ariel, an artist, maker and the person behind Ariel’s Art Collective — based in the very lovely, very British, very Thames-y Abingdon, Oxfordshire.
I’m originally from New York, which means yes, I will overshare, talk to strangers and probably ask you personal questions about three minutes after meeting you.
I’ve learned this is… not always the British way.
You’re a little more “keep calm and carry on.”
I’m more “tell me your entire life story while we paint.”
But honestly, I think that’s part of the fun.
I’ve always lived and breathed art. I’ve worked across textiles, fine art, art history and creative education, and these days I spend most of my time finding new ways to get people making things.
That might be an after-school art club, a life drawing night, a paint-and-sip, a creative workshop, a hen do, a team day, tutoring, a birthday party or just an excuse to spend a couple of hours making something with your hands.
And I don’t just run creative experiences, I like making things myself too.
I make and sell all sorts of fun, slightly odd, very handmade things: painted Crocs, upcycled clothes, custom artwork, prints and whatever else I’ve decided needs to exist.
Basically, if it involves being creative or giving something a new lease of life, I’m probably interested.
And if you’ve ever thought “I’m not creative”, you’re probably exactly the sort of person I want in one of my workshops.
You don't need to be good at art.
You just need to be willing to have a go.
And if you’ve got an idea for something you want to make, an event that needs something a bit different, or a pair of Crocs that are crying out for a makeover…
come say hi.
We’ll figure it out.
